How do you get yourself motivated when working on a difficult work project?

Question

How do you get yourself motivated when working on a difficult work project?
Do you have any tips or ideas on what to tell yourself if you need to work for long periods of time without much help by yourself Meaning Im trying to be positive, what keeps you feeling positive?

Answer

For me, I break the project down into smaller pieces. Then I look at the pieces and figure out whats going to take the most time, what needs done first, what part will be the most fun, etc. Ive found that breaking a bigdifficult project into smaller pieces makes the whole thing just seem more manageable somehow.brbrFirst on the list any of the quotmustdosquot things I need before anything else can get done, or things that have a hard and fast deadline I like to get the deadlines out of the way right away. Next on my list comes the things I really dont want to do that way, its over and done with, and it all gets better from there. From there, I just kindof keep going until Ive gotten to the quotmost funquot thing on the list I save that for last, almost like a reward for a job well done.brbrIve got a goal to work towards doing the fun thing, I get the stupid details I dont want to deal with out of the way first, and if I get interrupted, I can go back, and check a bunch of things off my list even if theyre tiny baby steps.

Answer

Thoroughly angry, I cant afford to get sad, I cant show weakness so therefore, instead of getting sad, I get angry.brbrFun little week we are having.brbrLets all get together and sing along with Christmas carols by the chipmunks, that will be fun.brbrIn any case, Alleshiea, cheer up, theres nothing in this world worth shedding a tear for unless its family, or your child.brbrlt lt Heart thing.

How do you deal with people that dont know you, but go on and on making a lot of assumptions about you ?

Question

How do you deal with people that dont know you, but go on and on making a lot of assumptions about you ?
Usually wrong...

Answer

Interesting bit of irony. A friendship is like a journey, but its more like a long walk than a road trip. People make assumptions as a short cut to familiarity. This is a good thing in a way, because fear of the unknown is a real relationship killer, but being the victim of a guessing game isnt so pleasant either.brbrThere are a lot of variables here that need to be addressed. Is the person worth knowing? Is there something between you that makes the relationship of value to you? Does that person need to know you in order to accomplish some sort of spiritual or social growth? Sometimes friendship starts out on unequal ground. You have to give that friend a hand up before they realize the potential you may see in thembrbrIf any or all of these end with a Yes, then the friend is worth your time. If not, you casually distance yourself from that person and you eventually drift apart. But if that friendship is worth keeping, then you have to temporarily assume the role of teacher. You dont have to hit them over the head with knowledge and it shouldnt be done all at once, but you get to help this person on their path to being a betterbrbrListenerbrbrDiscernerbrbrJudge of characterbrbrFreindbrbrWhat you get out of it is the knowledge that you helped another human being to become an independent thinker. if that person is prejudging you, they are doing it because it is s learned behavior, probably to get the upper hand in a relationship and assume dominance You also get a better friend. Only you can decide whether the process is worth it!
